Summer Boredom Tips and Printables

Happy Summer guys! If you are like me you are probably tired of hearing ‘I’m bored” already. Am I right? Well I have come up with a Summer boredom Jar, and it is working great for my kids already. As parents we do have other things to do besides play and go outside or take the kids to the park all day everyday. If we did no one would eat and the house would be a mess, then we would have other problems to deal with. So for those times when the kids are bored let them pick a task from the jar. Check out my printables page to print out the jar label and tasks. I know all kids are different so I made a bunch of plain task slips for you to fill out, so that it meets your needs.

If you are looking for ideas to fill up your jar I found this site with 101 “I’m Bored Ideas”.

I know that most parents don’t want their kids sitting around watching TV all day but most of us also know that children do enjoy watching TV. It’s also the easiest way to get things done. I have made a printable that will help keep your children from having too much screen time but will also get them doing something else. Instead of saying after that show you need to clean your room, why not say clean your room and then you can watch that show? This printable chat will make it easy for your kids to check off what they have done each day in order to earn screen time. Print this printable here.

I hope you guys are enjoying your summer as much as we are. Be sure to check back for more fun tips and tutorials.

Love this idea Ashley, I’m definitely going to be printing a copy for my two this summer.

My eldest has ADHD so things can get pretty chaotic when she doesn’t have the school routine. Lists work really well for her and she is much happier when she knows what she is supposed to be doing and has it in black and white.

Thanks Sam. I know that feeling, my son is the same way.
