Scrap Fabric Pretend Play Tea Bags
I feel kind of bad, since I got my wonderful Silhouette Cameo I have not been sewing and my poor sewing machine has been feeling neglected. Yes, she has feelings. So for the next few days I will be doing sewing projects! Who’s excited? I am, I love sewing!
Lets get started. For today’s project you will need a little bit of scrap fabric and string of some kind.
*A little tip for those of you who do not feel like sewing , you can use felt and just glue it together. That would be cute also but I have to use up some of my scraps.
Make your pattern. I just made mine look like a tea bag but a little bigger so when it is done it won’t be too small.
Trace and cut out 2 of the bag part and 2 of the label.
Place right sides of your fabric together and but your string down the middle.
Sew around all sides except the bottom. This stays open so that you can turn it right side out. You can stuff this with fiberfill, leave it empty or use a few little pieces of fabric to put inside.
Fold the bottom under and top stitch all the way around. Place the 2 label pieces wrong sides together with the other end of the string inside. Stitch all the way around and do around the edges with a serger or a zig-zag stitch.
Let tea time begin!
She had to wear her little server apron.
I have so much fun being a mommy. Now if I can just get her to stop adding real water, that would be great.
If you would like a pattern just let me know. Enjoy!
