Remove Dark Circles With Tea Bags

It is tough to be a mom and not get dark circles. If you are a mom and have never had puffy eyes or dark circles, I want to know your secret. I really thought I would get more sleep once my kids got a little bit older, nope. Wyatt wakes up screaming, I jump out of bed and bump my foot on every sharp or hard object in the house on my way to his room, only to find him fast asleep when I get there- really Wyatt?! Eye bags are like a new accessory for me, do you like my new shoes? What about these fancy dark eye bags? No Thank you. I have used creams and they work for the most part but then that is just one more chemical I am putting on my face. I looked up natural remedies and this one is by far my favorite so far.

  • 2 green tea bags

To try this out you should dip the tea bags in water and place them in the refrigerator for about an hour Them remove the tea bags from the fridge and place them over your eyes for about 15 minutes, after the 15 minutes are up you can wash your face. Your eyes should feel cool and refreshed. Do this everyday until you notice results.

Dark circles are caused due to the dilation of blood vessels under the eyes. Green tea helps in reducing this dilation, thereby curing dark circles. Also, tea contains tannins that have astringent properties – they constrict the blood vessels and capillaries under the eyes, and help reduce dark circles. You can learn more about tannins here.

I’ve heard about this trick (from reading magazines) but never tried it. I hadn’t run across a “real” person who’s done it! But now, I think I may dig out some of those tea bags sitting in my cabinet and give it a whirl. (I look a little like a raccoon at the moment …) Thank you!

My eternal war. I might’ve lost a few battles, but I shall win the war! Thanks for sharing this tip. Though, I think I might have heard of it before, or maybe had the crazy idea of trying it out and then forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me about/sharing it!
