Pallet Coffee Cup Rack

I love the idea of having my coffee mugs all in one place so that I can easily grab one when I need it. We have a coffee cart but the problem in our house is that it’s one open space, this is a problem because it really takes away wall space. I wanted to make a hanging mug rack but I didn’t have a wall to put it on and still have it close to our coffee cart. Here was my solution: put the cart at the end of our counter and make a mug rack that would sit on the edge of the counter. If you have a floor plan like we do then this pallet coffee cup rack might help you and if not you can still make a hanging cup rack by just taking a pallet and adding hooks.

For this project, you will need:

  • small pallet
  • Paint or stain,
  • Sand paper
  • screw in hooks
  • screws
  • screw driver
  • and a small piece of scrap wood for the feet

I started by cleaning and sanding the pallet. Then I used a gray stain to stain the pallet and scrap wood. Let dry.

Measure the scrap wood to double the size of the bottom of the pallet and cut 2 of those. Next, I screwed them on. Then I screwed the hooks on.

I looked around online for a cute saying to put on the top and I naturally went with Harry Potter.

I am so in love with this mug holder, it really comes in handy. It breaks up the space and feels like a wall.

How do you store your coffee mugs?
