Paint Slip N Slide

I don’t know about your kids but most kids I know love to play in the water. My kids usually take it too far and end up making a huge watery mess inside, in our bathroom. So to prevent that and about a dozen other inside messes, I try to plan fun things to do outside. We go to the park, visit friends, take a walk and play in the water outside. Their favorite is the slip n slide, something about sliding around in water on their belly is very entertaining to them. So I thought of a great way to spice it up by adding paint. It was a hit!

For this project you will need:

  • A thick tarp ( I used one I already had and use to paint crafts on)
  • Kid friendly paint ( I used cheap paint in bottles and also made some homemade with this recipe)
  • Excited kids or adults that cant wait to get messy

I doubled the recipe and made 2 batches of paint. Since its the day before the 4th of July We decided to have a patriotic paint slip n slide. I also want to have a neon slip n slide party soon, so get ready to come over and get messy with us local friends.

Those are fake smiles by the way. They were very unsure of what was going to happen. “We are doing what with the paint” is what Wyatt said to me.

Paint slip n slide

To get started you just squeeze your paint out and let them have at it. After a few minutes they got the hang of it and starting fun.

Disclaimer: If you make the paint please encourage them not to get it in their eyes. Also have water near by to rinse it out.

Wyatt got some of the paint in his eye and said it burned so we rinsed it out and he was good as new.

Isn’t it the best feeling to have happy kids who are outside making a mess and not destroying your house, but really, I love seeing those smiling faces.

Happy 4th of July everyone!!!

Let the kids stay cool, make a mess, and enjoy the summer with a paint slip n slide

What a great idea! It’s a great way to keep the kids occupied and entertained, and I think it’ll do wonders for those overexcited adults too.
