Easy DIY Tiki Torch Tutorial
Tiki torches make the perfect summer addition to any porch or patio. They are great for adding a little light at night or even to help keep the bugs away. We use them to keep those nasty mosquitos away, where we live they are everywhere. The tiki torches that stake in the ground are great but I was looking for something that I can have a little closer to us when we are sitting on the porch. They were so easy to make that I made a few of these.
You will need a few glass bottles, I bought a few decorative bottles from the dollar store but wine bottles work well too. You will also need torch fluid and the wick that goes in them. These can be found most places that sell tiki torches (I know that Lowe’s and Walmart carry them)
To make these I filled up the bottle to the neck A.K.A part that it starts to get skinny. After that I just put the wick in the bottle and wrapped metal wire around it to keep the wick from falling in. I have seen them made with a 1/2″ x 3/8″ copper coupling ( you can find them at Lowe’s). I was working on what I had on hand at the time.
And… You’re done! How simple was that?
How do you enjoy your summer nights?
