Happy almost New Year guys! If you are like me, you are probably trying to find something for the kids to do on New Year’s eve. It’s not always easy since everything is geared towards party goers, not to mention that most kids are asleep way before the ball even drops. I like to have little crafts, games, and snacks earlier in the night so the kids can celebrate too. When we make a big deal about it I think the kids get a better understanding that one year is over and a new one is beginning- and it’s just fun for everyone. This year we are going to make cookies and decorate them with clocks, talk about what happened in 2016 and what we wish for 2017, do a craft, and watch a family movie. How do you celebrate with your family?
You will not need much for this activity. I found this fun idea on little bins for little hands and thought we should give it a try. Also, check out their other New Year’s Eve activities.
- toilet paper rolls
- decorative tape
- store bought confetti or cut up paper
- anything else you would like to use for decorating them
Start by cutting the tip off of your balloon.
Put the cut end of the balloon over your toilet paper roll and make a knot on the other end.
Then put tape around the balloon and toilet paper roll to secure them together and continue to decorate it the way you want.
Your finished product should look like this. Now add your confetti and let the party begin.
Aim…(away from your face, haha)
The best part is that you can use them again and again. They are lots of fun.
If you make these I would love to see how you decorate them.
